Can anyone enlighten me concerning the primary school inside Windsor Great Park? It may now be in the restricted area. I attended the school for a short time in 1946/7.

My grandfather, Albert Mitchell, was head gardener at Dell Park. He may have received certain rights within the Royal Park because he worked on the boundary of the park.

Does anyone remember the school at that time and what happened to it in later years?

Am writing the biography of the 1st Lord Fairhaven of Anglesey Abbey whose father, the millionaire Urban Hanlon Broughton, MP for Preston during WW1, owned a house in Park close, Englefield Green.

Can you help me identify the house and if it is still standing?

I am researching family history, and am asking for any information about my grandparents Alice and Denis Brown, who used to live at Vegal Crescent, Englefield Green. I am particularly interested in information about Denis Brown. I am also trying to establish what link the family had with Dell Park Farm, where I used to be taken as a baby in 1956 and carried on visiting up till aged 10 or 12, when I would visit the elderly couple who lived in the farm house. The only name I can recall is for ''Uncle Fred''. My father was Derek Brown, and had sisters Barbara, Jeanne and Beryl.

I am very grateful to Graham Dennis of Blacklocks Books for leading me to details about the Hon. Gerald Montague, the son of Lord Swaythling, who lived at Great Fosters and ran the Black Lake Poultry Farm during the war.

If my information is correct, some years ago the ladies of Windlesham made a quilt with oak leaves and acorn motifs. It was featured in a magazine at that time and I had the cutting. I should be grateful if one of its makers would send me a picture and the story behind the quilt. I am a quilter myself and thought the block was beautiful even from the tiny cutting I had.
