I am very grateful to Graham Dennis of Blacklocks Books for leading me to details about the Hon. Gerald Montague, the son of Lord Swaythling, who lived at Great Fosters and ran the Black Lake Poultry Farm during the war.

If my information is correct, some years ago the ladies of Windlesham made a quilt with oak leaves and acorn motifs. It was featured in a magazine at that time and I had the cutting. I should be grateful if one of its makers would send me a picture and the story behind the quilt. I am a quilter myself and thought the block was beautiful even from the tiny cutting I had.

Does anyone know the location of Lowood (Low Wood or Low-Wood perhaps?) House? My Grandfather owned the property during the last War (Maj D E Dixon, Grenadier Guards) and my father was born there in 1943. I lived in Sunninghill for a year but was never able to locate it - can anyone help? Thanks

I last posted an enquiry on 23rd August 2005 for information on Dell Park, where my grandfather, Albert mitchell was in charge of the gardens from 1943 to his death in 1953. He lived with my aunt, Florrie Mitchell, who went to work at Parkside House after my grandfather's death. I am seeking any photographs of Dell Park gardens during my grandfathers period, also to contact anyone who remembers my grandfather, Albert Mitchell. I am particularly interested in contacting any relatives of Miss Everard and the 'Brown' Family( I remember Barbara Brown from when I was perhaps 6 or 7 years old. Does anyone know anything about Miss Dipple who worked for the Schroder family during the years in question. Thank you.

For your reference, there is a question about a village pond in Englefield Green. There was another pond behind the graveyard that I walked round many times back in the 1960's and maybe into the start of the 70's. This was of a reasonable size and always had people fishing it when I was there. Hope this helps.

Does anybody know the history of the Convent school at Kingswood? I went there aged 4 to 5 in 1954-1955. The school moved to Sussex in 1955. Most of the nuns were Spanish, except for the Mother Superior, Helena Greenwood. Their habits were black. I think the order was the Sacred Heart but am not RC so would not know.
