The prime purpose of the Englefield Green community
website is a gateway to information on the local area
in order to promote the interests of the residents of
Englefield Green in all aspects of their lives. It is
also for visitors to the area, prospective visitors
and prospective residents.
A secondary aim is to help users of the Internet find
their way around local information efficiently without
having to spend lots of time wading through large search
results from the search engines.
The site is non-profit making but a charge is made
for advertisements in order to fund the cost of maintaining
the site and publishing a local trade directory which
is delivered to all households in the village - there
is no charge for line ads in the directory. The publishing
costs are sponsored by Royal Holloway University as
part of its involvement in the community.
Development on the Brunel Site at Cooper’ Hill Lane: Public meeting 15th Jan.
12th Dec 2007
Dear Englefield Green Resident
After two public meetings and three presentations the sub-committee set up by EGVRA to monitor the proposals for the Brunel site is now seeking your help.
1. Do you have a view of what you would like to see on this site? Are there particular amenities or facilities that you feel would benefit the Village?
2. Does any possible student accommodation (up to 400 places) on the site produce any significant relief for the Village?
3. How important do you think it is to retain existing facilities for commercial use?
4. What are your priorities? What do you want to see preserved on the site?
5. Are there concerns that you would like addressed?
6. Are you interested in visiting a site already developed by Oracle to see how their ideas work in practice?
Your opinions on all of these issues and any others you wish to raise are important to an understanding of what the village wants from this major development. We must not miss this opportunity to present these views especially where consensus leads to a strong opinion of any issue.
The next Runnymede Community Forum Planning meeting run by Oracle is scheduled for 15th January at 7-30 pm in the Pillar Hall on the campus.
It would be very helpful if you could let us have your views before then.
We look forward to hearing from you.
